SWIMSUIT SEASON ISN’T QUITE HERE YET, BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO LOOK SEXY AND SUN-KISSED. THESE EXPERT TIPS WILL GET YOU GLOWING—NOW!

GET A FAUX TAN
We all know better than to bake in the sun to get a little color. But there’s no need to face spring with a pale complexion or pasty legs. Start now by using a lotion with a built-in self-tanner every other day, and you’ll have just the right subtle hint of color come warm weather. A faux glow will also cover up imperfections and make you look instantly slimmer.

Beauty tip: To prevent telltale streaks, exfoliate your skin before you use self-tanner. St. Ives Mineral Therapy Body Wash can be used right in the shower.

LIGHTEN UP ON THE MAKEUP

You don’t need a face full of matte, heavy makeup for spring. Replace your lipstick with gloss and play with brighter colors and iridescent textures. “Get into a habit of thinking of makeup like clothing—add more layers in winter and take them off in summer,” says Susie Galvez, author of You Are So Going to Thank Me for This: How Real Women Conceal, Reveal, Find, Flaunt, Fake & Fix Just About Every Hair, Skin & Makeup Dilemma There Is. In addition to the weight of the moisturizer, with the summer rays you’ll be soaking up you may also want to make sure your new, lighter moisturizing option contains SPF.

Beauty tip: Now may also be the time to replace your heavy winter moisturizing cream with a lighter product, such as non-greasy POND’S® Luminous Moisture™ Day Lotion With SPF 15.

GET SOME HIGHLIGHTS
If you darkened your hair color for fall and winter, it may be time for a few blonde streaks. “A few highlights near your face will really revive you,” says Galvez. Even better, highlights grow out gracefully and don’t usually require the time or maintenance of allover hair color; you can go up to three months without a touch up.

DO SOME GOOD
Getting that summer glow isn’t all about products and skin rituals. Taking time to give back and making small changes to help make a brighter future can give you an inner glow to be proud of. For more inspiration, visit Unilever Project Sunlight.
